If you are an entrepreneur and digital nomad

There are more than 3,000 companies with Italian capital present in Albania and about 20,000 Italians passing through Albania. In general, an Italian company has numerous advantages such as:
  • a skilled workforce
  • taxation on profit ranging from 0% to 15%
  • very low taxation of dividends
  • labor cost among the lowest in Eastern Europe
  • Italian language spoken by a large part of the population
  • widespread presence of international banks
  • strong incentives from the IMF and ECB for entrepreneurial initiatives

In addition to all these advantages, the Albanian government, in order to cope with the crisis that is affecting the whole world due to the pandemic, has put in place for 2021 a series of tax incentives for companies ranging from the elimination of taxes on business profit for companies with a turnover of up to 14 million Lek (approximately 130 thousand euros), with the zeroing of VAT for companies with a turnover of up to 10 million lek (approximately 80 thousand euros). As for the so-called digital nomads, Albania with new legal provisions offers temporary work permits with the aim of reviving its economy in these troubled times affected by the pandemic
