Breast Surgery

Over the years, it is very common for breasts to lose their firmness and start hanging due to age, weight fluctuations, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Although the operation does not serve to make the breasts fatter or fuller, it can help slow down the effects of aging by tightening the skin on the chest. Furthermore, this surgery could be useful for reducing the mass of the areola, which is the dark pigment area

Breast lift surgery is performed in the operating room and lasts two hours and is a procedure that does not require long-term hospitalization, but nevertheless, a hospital stay of at least one or two nights would be recommended in order to constantly monitor the patient. The operation is performed under general anesthesia under the supervision of an anesthetist. Our doctors realize this surgery using modern surgical techniques to achieve a more natural results.

Facial Surgeries

The face is our business card, which is why taking care of it is usually essential importance to us. To maintain the correct condition of the skin, care alone is not alwayssufficient. Sometimes a cheek lift (facelift) or surgery is needed eyelids. Sometimes our face is not properly proportioned, which can lead to the appearance of complex. However, this can be solved by putting yourself in the hands of an experienced plastic surgeon.

NOSE SHAPING (RHINOPLASTY)

Rhinoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure for correcting and reconstructing the nose. It can be performed to correct a nose defect inherited from birth and that causes breathing problems but more often it is conducted for aesthetic reasons. This surgery procedure is performed for aesthetic reasons in cases when the nose’s physical appearance is not proportionate with the other facial features and thus draws attention, creating feelings of inferiority and insecurity in the social environment. Such cases are observed among persons whose nose is disproportionate with their face, such as an arching or deviating nose bone or the nose shape is not in harmony with the other facial features. Rhinoplasty is one of those aesthetic interventions that can radically change your look.

Rhinoplasty can be performed via two techniques: Open or Closed.

The Closed technique is performed via several incisions inside the nose, depending on the structure of the person’s nose.

The Open technique separates the nose skin from its peak at the upper lip and offers excellent exposure of the nose for remodelling with high precision. Our doctors have all the necessary experience in both rhinoplasty techniques and will decide on which one to use based on the patient’s best interest.

During the intervention the surgeon will treat every nose element one after the other, including the back, any elevation or node, nose width and its nostrils, nose end remodelling, straightening of the bone and cartilage structure, as well as the improvement of the respiratory channel. Each of these elements is treated differently and the treatment varies from one individual to the other, based on the targeted result.

Procedure

Rhinoplasty surgery is performed in a specialized medical centre. The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia and sedatives, or general aesthesia. However, in both cases the patient is asleep. The presence of the anaesthetist allows the doctor to fully concentrate and achieve the best aesthetic result possible, without dividing their attention among the intervention and the monitoring of the vital signs of the patient. Depending on the complexity of the intervention, it might last 45 to 90 minutes. The aim is to achieve a regular and natural looking nose, in harmony with the facial features, as well as the reconstruction of the respiratory channel for a healthier, sportive life.

Post-Surgical Recovery

Patients go back home one day after the intervention. However, they remain under the continuous care of an adult for 24 to 48 hours or they can stay for one night in the hospital under the care of the medical staff. The recovery period after the intervention lasts from one to two weeks, depending on the swelling and number of treatments conducted during the surgery.

After the intervention, a splint is put on the patient’s nose which helps preserving the nose structure from touches or hurts coming from external factors. The Da Vinci clinic doctors will remove the plaster and substitute it with a thin cover to be used from 5 to 7 days. After the intervention the patient will experience swelling and bruises in the area around the nose and the eyes, which last from 6 to 14 days, depending on the person’s physiognomy. After the first two weeks, the nose starts to have a normal look. In approximately 10 days after the intervention the nose will look normal and the person can start going out again. However, the full recovery is achieved not earlier than in 6 months time

EAR PINNING (OTOPLASTY)

Otoplasty is plastic surgery for correcting big ears by reducing their shape, pulling backward wide-open ears, creating thus an external ear that is of natural proportions and in line with the face contours.

Another reason to undergo otoplasty is to correct the possible deformities of the pinna (external ear).

Such deformations are widely known as “cup ear” and “shell ear”. In the first case, the ear is very small while in the second the ear lacks the pinna and the natural refraction, and the ear has a flat appearance.

If you are experiencing one of the above-mentioned situations, then otoplasty is the solution to your problem.

The ear surgery can be carried out starting from the age of four. If the doctor notices that the growth process of the ears is complete, it is possible to plan an intervention. This intervention is more frequent among children, aiming at decreasing the chances of children being bullied in their social environment because of their deformed ears. Adults can also remodel their ears via this surgery and have a more natural, aesthetically enjoyable face.

As with every cosmetic surgery, it is important to be informed beforehand about the benefits and risks accompanying otoplasty. Getting informed is a crucial aspect in ensuring a high degree of success from the intervention.

Procedure

A common otoplasty surgery lasts 45-60 minutes. A lot depends on the patient and the type of intervention to be carried out. Usually, a small piece of skin is removed from behind the ear in order to expose the cartilage. Then the ear is remodelled and the retroauricular cartilage is repositioned by overarching the ear behind the head. The stitches are used to keep the incision closed and also to keep the ear in its new position (in case this is part of the intervention in your specific case). Because of the place in which the incision is carried out, any post intervention scar is invisible.

Although you might have problems with only one ear, the surgeon can decide to intervene in both. This is done in order to ensure the best possible symmetry after the intervention. This is a common procedure which should not create any discomfort.

The age of the patient is often times the determining factor in deciding upon the type of the anaesthesia to be used during the otoplasty. For young patients general anaesthesia is usually used to put them to sleep during the whole surgery. Adults can choose local anaesthesia and stay awake but quiet and painless during the procedure.

Post-Surgical Recovery

In the beginning, your ears will hurt and swell. For this reason, the doctor will bandage them. Full bandaging is necessary for approximately 3-4 days, during which you won’t be able to drive due to limited hearing. The doctor will remove the bandage in your next appointment. You will be advised to use a smaller elastic bandage during the night for several weeks until your ears are fully recovered.

Before you go home, the doctor will advise you how to take care of your ears. The next appointment will be set and you will be advised to call our patient care number in case you experience any problem. The patient care line is available during 24 hours. In case you experience any problem, members of our staff will respond to you during both day and night.

It is recommended that you take a week off work to recover as an initial recovery period. In approximately six weeks you will be able to return to sports activities, including swimming.
